Ever thought about having a pizza wedding reception? For my wedding, we had a food truck and it was the best decision ever. I mean what’s not to love about wholesome, tasty grub such as pizza! Just as this dreamy, twinkling evening wedding inspiration showcases.

There is a lot of great inspiration to take away from these images brought to us by Rebecca Kerr Photography and Kellie’s Flowers. Notably the twinkling fairy light curtain, cute alpaca guests, modern flower arrangements and sensational styling.

There was a gorgeous sweetheart table set up, pretty stationery and swoon-worthy outfits to name just a few. I urge you to take in every little, gorgeous, detail.

Pizza Wedding Reception

With so many couples having to reschedule their big day, postpone or amend their plans, I wanted to provide a visual feast of ideas for those that have held an intimate ceremony and plan to celebrate in style with their family and friends post covid.

When hunting for the perfect venue, it needed to have a relaxed and informal feel, provide the perfect setting for an array of celebration styles, whilst encompassing a feeling of serenity and romance for those all-important shots. It had to be Hornington Manor!

It’s rustic charm and countryside location was ideal and not forgetting those suspended chandeliers and fairy light wall… who doesn’t love romantic lighting?! Everything about Hornington Manor reflected the ethos of the shoot: fun, relaxed, bohemian charm with a rustic twist.

The wedding ceremony and reception is often the main focus of everyone’s attention. I wanted to turn the tables and create a vision of how the evening celebrations could take centre stage, especially for those couples wishing to have a blessing or after party over the coming years, having already wed in an intimate ceremony during the pandemic.

Having said that, the shoot also needed to be versatile and blend seamlessly from day into night to enable inspiration for new couples who could also extend their celebrations and end their day in style.

I chose a natural, bohemian style with a romantic, rustic edge to encompass the charm of the barn, working farm buildings and quaint vintage carriage which has recently found a new home at Hornington.

The colour scheme complimented the natural theme with an abundance of neutral tones and a pop of rich rose to really bring the palette to life.

When planning the shoot, I had always envisaged romantic lighting, the warm glow of the evening sun and soft flowing movement amidst idyllic natural surroundings.

We were so blessed to have the most beautiful sunset for the shoot and Rebecca from Rebecca Kerr Photography captured my vision perfectly. Her natural, fun loving style was a perfect reflection of the same qualities that I wanted to capture that evening, the love and laughter of the newly weds on their special day.

Long, luxurious layers and delicate lace embroidery was the brief for our bridal gown, and Kim from Elizabeth Kate Bridal absolutely nailed it! With a hint of blush and a seductive slit hidden away in the underskirt, our model, Ellie really did look and feel like a princess.

Natural makeup, long tousled curls for a loose, relaxed evening look were the perfect base for Alexandra’s bespoke tiara with fresh water pearls and swarovski crystal detail.

But why have one look when you can have two? Chrys Chapman HMUA, styled an elegant little up do in keeping with the romantic curls and ambience of the theme. Rocking an enchanting side hair vine with glass and gold threaded leaves, the result was just divine, and captured beside the resident alpacas, on the lawn in front of the prettiest of sunsets… what more could you ask for?!

The bridal bouquet is always one of the most important pieces when it comes to flowers, if not the most important. The design for this shoot was no different and I wanted it to be the pinnacle of the theme.

Large, open blooms in rich creams and sandy tones with rows of delicate soft petals and ruffles to entice the eye to explore further. Luscious lilac delphinium stems with textural dried elements of bunny tails and pampas grass, finished with a duo of ivory and rose silk ribbons.

The sumptuous floral delights continued across the shoot with versatile pedestal arrangements creating multiple uses throughout the evening. An alluring soft backdrop for that first dance and fun on the dancefloor to dressing and embellishment of a dining space.

Nestled in the manors’ courtyard, Fired up Pizza’s beautifully restored vintage horse truck provided, not only the perfect scene for our al fresco dining set up, but also the most wonderfully tasty stone baked pizzas. With a vast array of toppings, our model couple, Ellie and Sean had the best time tantalising their taste buds.

Hannah from Hannah Rachael Weddings styled the sweetest little sweetheart table to enable the happy couple to sit amongst their guests and in the heart of the outdoor feast. Whilst classic table settings with a rustic hessian runner and napkins, embossed charger plates and rose gold cutlery really added a sense of decadence to the whole dining experience.

Yasmin from Ivy Alice Stationery absolutely blew me away with her creations. The prettiest invitation suite and ‘Let’s Eat’ pizza menus with matching place names perfectly complemented this stylish theme. With heavenly floral details, voluptuous italic typography, natural and romantic tones, their beauty alongside Hannah’s exquisite styling and floral urn was simply divine.

I hope couples can take away inspiration and ideas from this romantic evening shoot. Encourage them to make their celebrations their own and to draw upon their unique character, likes and loves. Enjoy making those memories!
